The name comes from the chocolate waiting on the table.
The chocolate has stayed through everything else that changed in the apartment.
The curve on the card, and on this page, comes from that mark. It appears in three or four places, no more.
Why not just a rental
For two people, one booking at a time. No reception and no keypad on the door — we arrange the welcome in person.
It is why ChiColata does not read as another rental.
Materials
Wood, brass tones, ceramics, ochre.
A wooden floor, brass-toned side tables, ceramic pieces on the windowsill, ochre textiles. Nothing glossy, nothing fully white. The tones are warm because the light in Split is warm, so the room does not fight it.
The lighting is low and directional. In the afternoon the light breaks across the floor, and that was the only effect we wanted. The photographs show it better than a description can.

The green shutters set the colour.
The whole quarter shares one palette: stone, faded green joinery, and canopies that hold the shade. The balcony carries the same shutters, so the apartment does not stand apart from its street.
That green is the only accent colour on this site.

The time is agreed before you arrive, and Daniel is on WhatsApp throughout your stay. Ask where to eat and you get an answer by price bracket, not a list copied off Tripadvisor.

We built the app ourselves.
Six languages, a personal access code for each booking, installs on the phone and works without a network — so it keeps working on the ferry. You get access before you arrive; it is not published publicly.
The stay
Two people, the whole space.
The whole apartment is yours for the length of your stay. No shared rooms and no other guests inside the apartment.
The family has an olive grove and produces its own olive oil. If you'd like to take some home, it is available in half-litre and one-litre bottles. Ask Daniel during your stay.
