For Split itself, you generally won't need a car.
Klarina 10 sits in an old, quiet quarter above Bačvice. The sea is down the street, the old town is a walk along the Riva, and the ferry port is on the same side of the city.

Close, and quiet
Everything on foot, and a quiet street.
From the door you go through quiet streets of stone facades and green shutters, then downhill towards the water. A few minutes later you are on the Riva, and from there the old town is a flat walk along the shore.
The same route, the other way, ends at Bačvice. And when you come back and close the shutters, what is left is a street without traffic and a tree canopy at the balcony — the bustle of the city is behind you, though you are minutes from all of it on foot.
Beaches
The sea as part of the day, not a trip.
Bačvice is the city beach — sand, shallow water and cafés along it, busy into the evening. Ovčice is a little further and quieter, on the rocks to the east.
Beach towels and bags are in the cupboard, so there is nothing to pack. The other beaches are covered in the Split guide.

By ferry
The ferry port is 7–8 minutes on foot, on the same side of the city.
By car
Free street parking is available nearby, subject to availability. In July and August, Daniel is glad to advise on where to look.
